Welcome to Garde Institute

Welcome to Garde Institute, the educator which trains care givers, from Karitane® Care and Mothercraft carers to in-home carers for the elderly. Our courses will provide graduates with a recognised and respected qualification and raises the standard of care giving within New Zealand communities

Garde Institute Limited is a registered charity. It is not-for-profit, and instead it has as its purpose to improve all standards of care in the community, by providing more specialised training and support for the carers.

Garde Institute Limited is a private tertiary college which is registered with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA). We have developed a specialised course in Karitane Care and Mothercraft which has also been approved and accredited by NZQA.

Our Vision is to be the leading provider of specialised training for in-home carers and we our Mission is to provide specialised training to enable the elderly and the very young to be cared for in the home by highly skilled, knowledgeable and qualified people.

Garde Institute achieves these by:

• Providing courses to enhance existing skills
